2015 AMA Annual Meeting
American Medical Association’s annual meeting is live in Chicago and RIC’s got the details. The Retina Institute’s Michael Davis, MD is currently in attendance under the prestigious role of Delegate for the American Society of Retina Specialists. Davis, along with numerous other medical professionals in a variety of fields will be discussing and establishing policy on medical, health, professional, and governance matters within AMA. The American Medical Association strives towards creating the best possible outcomes for patients in the sustainable physician practice arena. The event will take place between 6/6/2015 – 6/10/2015.
This year’s event will tackle such issues as:
- New regulatory penalties in the upcoming 10 years that will directly affect physicians.
- Shaping such regulations as the IPAB (Independent Payment Advisory Board). AMA has joined over 500 groups and organizations to combat this issue
- Bettering outcomes surrounding chronic disease.
- Growing medical education. By harnessing technology and listening to students’ needs and interests, medical education can be transformed faster than any other time in history.
We are proud to have Dr. Davis represent both RIC as well as the American Society of Retina Specialists. He is a member of the the American Society of Retina Specialists, the Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group, American Academy of Ophthalmology, and the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology.
